Everybody in the Advance English class of 2012!! As a project we had to do in our Advance English class, we had to make a puppet show out of brown paper bags and organize ourselves in groups. Below are a few pictures of our puppet show called "Musical Heroes".

Recently on our Advance English class we've been learning about rhythm in poetry. We've been studying meters and feet.Bellow is a picture of the types of meters we had to learn.

The Giver

In our Advance English class we also had the chance to read the novel "The Give":, written by Lois Lowry. This novel talks about a dystopian world were everything is seen through Jonas' eyes. I enjoyed reading this novel because it shows major themes like the importance of having memories and it reminds us how lucky we are to have choices and not be controlled by everything. We also got the chance to see the play after we had read the novel wich helped us visualice better what we had already read. Bellow is a picture of The cover of the novel.

Figurative Language

One topic we touched in our Advance English class was Figurative Language. Here we learned how to identify something that is being described by being compared to something else. Bellow is a picture of all the Figurative Languages we learned.

Soul Surfer

The first movie we saw this year(2012)on our Advance English class was "Soul Surfer". It's based on the life of surfer Bethany Hamilton. It narrates Hamilton's survival to a shark attack and the lost of her arm. The film details the events surrounding this attack and her struggle during the aftermath. The actress Annasophia Robb played Bethany Hamilton. Bellow we can see posters of the movie "Soul Surfer".
